When hearing of the NFL’s new line of pink accessories that players, coaches, referees, and fans can adorn in the month of October; media reaction was impressive and supportive.
This type of merchandise shed light on breast cancer awareness month and I believed paved the way for a new type of communication with fans and audiences.
By “being proud to wear pink”, a powerhouse institution such as the National Football League showed its true colors and not only made audiences more aware… but took community outreach to new heights.
In doing this, the NFL becomes a gateway to directly collaborating and interacting with organizations. Thus, placing the spotlight simultaneously on the messages of what they are supporting and their efforts as an established association.
All of the actual apparel worn by players and coaches will be auctioned off with proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society.
